Look What Others Are Saying About Balance And Vestibular Treatment
From Sarah Conover Physical Therapy...

Terri P. overcame disrupting dizziness  and is now working
and traveling regularly.

"I found my vestibular physical therapist after determining that my 'normal' doctors were unable to find the source of my extreme 'dizziness' and feelings of unbalance. My life was becoming totally disrupted by something that seemed to be coming from my eyes and ears.  This was very frightening to me.  My physical therapist taught me exercises that would retrain my brain to accept sights and sounds.  Initially, I could barely perform the prescribed exercises and they did make my condition worse for a short time.  With much time, and extreme patience, knowledge, and teaching from my therapist, I was able to perform all the exercises and to begin to understand what was wrong with me. I have no doubt that the knowledge and expertise of my vestibular physical therapist is the thing that allowed me to have my life back."

Barb M. was able to conquer the daily ups and downs and is back to enjoying all her life has to offer.

"Vestibular rehab has helped me be able to navigate through life. Before rehab going into a big box store was so overwhelming that I would always break out into a sweat and be exhausted after leaving. Lowe's was my home away from home. Now with the skills I have learned from rehab I am able to be in the store more comfortably and for longer periods of time. I am also able to re-center my head on days that I have done too much turning or  bending over which happens when I  am in the kitchen for long periods of time. I keep my "head turning" exercises close at hand so  I can get  to them quickly. I've learned how to control  my  focus to keep better balance. I went zip lining in a cave in Louisville not too long ago and this skill helped me cross the rope  bridges that I did not  know  were going to be part of this experience. Hiking can be tricky  due to the uneven surfaces you walk on but my  exercises during  therapy have helped me be able to navigate through tree roots, holes and uneven rocks, I may not be as fearlessly as before, but I can still do it.  I truly feel like I can continue to  try just about anything I  want to due to my vestibular rehab therapy.

What is Telehealth?

Picture
Telehealth physical therapy simply means helping you with your balance, dizziness, and concussion related problems, directly to you through the internet.  The benefits include flexible scheduling, the privacy of your home or office, no waiting room noise. lights and germs, and minimal time away from your work and family.  Many times, dizziness makes it impossible to drive, and riding in the car stirs up the symptoms even more.  With telehealth, you have the freedom to choose when and where you have your appointments?

The telehealth appointment will typically begin with a conversation through a secure HIPAA-compliant video internet connection.  The specialist will complete a thorough evaluation to gain an understanding of your symptoms and related difficulties.  For most vestibular problems causing dizziness or unsteadiness,  highly effective treatment, instruction, and coaching does not require physical contact.  Our specialist provides the information and instructions you need to relieve your dizziness and related symptoms, and improve your balance. She will prescribe customized tips and exercises just for you, based on your unique condition. She will also coach you through daily changes you might need to make, or health related questions you might need to get answered in order for you to quickly return to the active lifestyle you enjoy.

Though the benefits and conveniences are superb, telehealth therapy and coaching is not for everyone.  There are certain conditions that are best treated in a physical clinic.  If you aren't sure, you may wish to schedule a free discovery call with our specialist to find out if this convenient and successful method is a good fit for you.
